Brian Giorgio

While studying Engineering at the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Brian joined the Offshore Sailing Team where he quickly found his true calling.  After graduating in 2008, Brian became a member of the Marine Engineers Beneficial Association where he worked on merchant ships as a licensed engineer.  Between ships, Brian continued following his passion of sailing by working on sailboats both in the private sector and with the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Sailing Foundation. These boats include: Farr 40, TP 52, Maxi 72 classes and Super Maxi racing yachts.

In 2014, Brian transitioned away from merchant shipping and accepted a full-time engineering position on the new S/Y Rambler 88, an internationally campaigned 88’ Maxi class sailboat.   After several years, he took a leave of absence from Rambler to participate in the 35th edition of the America’s Cup where he worked as a Hydraulic Systems Engineer for the American Magic Team.  Brian currently sits on the board of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Sailing Foundation.
